Members
Create and configure Members of your Program
Members are the people or companies that participate in your Program. They are part of the community that you choose to incentivize.
Members are the core of your loyalty Program as they bring life to it. When fulfilling their Incentives, they can obtain all kind of outcomes, from Points – which can later be redeemed for Rewards – to [Instant Rewards] and Instant Badges.
Members can also be grouped into different Segments and Levels, depending on the Program they're part of.
Membership Models
Membership Models represent the participation of an individual, company or any person related to a company in any specific B2B or B2C loyalty program.
Platform's Membership model intuitively represents the community of most B2B programs, using Salesforce's Account and Contact structure as a basis.
Member Types
Platform allows you to create 3 different types of Members:
- Individual Members represents a physical person related to a Salesforce Contact or a Person Account. Individual Members operate independently: they can earn their own Points, redeem Rewardsand have their own Badges.
When should I use Individual Members? If your goal is to encourage physical persons or sole proprietors, you should go for Individual Members.
- Organization Member is the Member Type that represents organizations or companies. Organization Members may have Organization Contributors associated, in which case their Actions will contribute to the Organization Member. Organization Members are always linked to Salesforce Accounts. As Individual Members, Organization Members also have their own Points, redeem Rewards and have their own Badges.
When should I use Organization Members?Organization Members should be used to incentivize any kind of company, household or any other legal entity.
- Organization Contributor Members are the people connected to an Organization Member. In most cases, they represent companies' employees or household members. Organization Contributors are related to a Salesforce Contact, which, analogously, is associated with the Salesforce Account linked to Organization Member.
Organization Contributor Members do not have Points of their own as all the Actions they fulfill contribute to the Organization Member balance they are linked to. However, if Missions and Rules give an Instant Reward and/or a Badge, Organization Contributors will obtain them in the same way as Individual Members.
When should I use Organization Contributor Members?Go for Organization Contributor Members when you'd like to establish Members to collaborate toward an organizational goal.
Currently, Organization Members and Organization Contributor Members cannot be edited or deleted.
Hybrid Membership Model
There may be cases in which you'd like both Organization Members and Organization Contributor Members to earn Points and keep a Balance when performing Actions. For such situations, Platform lets you combine different Membership models by creating an Individual Member associated with an Account and ticking both in the Action.
How Organization Members and Contributors Work Together
Organization Members and Organization Contributor Members work together to model the relationship between a company and its employees. When Organization Contributor Members earn points, those points go directly to the Organization Member.
Only the Organization Member and any Organization Contributor Members you set as manager can redeem Points. You can, however, encourage Organization Contributor Members directly through Badges and Instant Rewards.
